 Dwarf Poro or Mountain Poro

"The mini knife tree"

This species of tree is used to create shade in coffee plantations, for living fences and as a substrate for orchids.  Fllowering  between the months of January and March the pods are a bright red color and are popularly known as "mini knives:"

The petals of these flowers are completely edible; they may be eaten raw or with eggs in a prepartion similar to the flower of Ictavo.

This species is easily reproduced from cuttings.
