Of the 239 mammals that exist in Costa Rica, some species of large animals are in danger of extinction, due to the destruction of habitat and indiscriminate hunting. In San Gerardo de Rivas one can find from the most common mammals such as the Guatuza (Dasyprocta punctata) and Coati (Nasua narica) to the more elusive Puma (Puma concolor) and Tayra (Herparlurus yaguarondi).

Did you know that the majority of aerosol products contain CFC (Cloroflorocarbons); a chemical that produces a grave threat to the ozone cap, causing accelerated global warming and a disequalibrium in natural cycles.

Be responsible and do not use these aerosol products.
