Forms pairs or family groups.

When frightened, will leave in a sudden flight to a perch where it walks from side to side with the throat inflated.

Jumps along the ground, moving small pieces of rotten wood and leaf litter with beak.

Feeds on beetles, cockroaches, crickets, moths, spiders and small centepieds.  Compliments diet with some small invertebrates and small fruits.
