This species is terrestrial, diuranl and nocturnal.  It is often found in leaf litter.  Feeds on a wide variety of amphibians and reptiles.  This species is oviparous.  It can be easily distinguished from other non venemous snakes by the order and color of the rings, with the sequence, red, yellow, black, yellow.
